Runway Incursions

This is a wide topic that may play out in many different ways for those of us in general aviation. Unfortunately we are usually the scape goat in a lot of circumstances and many times the “A-Type” in us will not allow us to ask for help to avoid disasters.

What AOPA and many others in aviation teaching and safety have been preaching for years is now coming into the mainstream. CBS did an articles this week going over the “close calls” and how they happen, how to avoid them and so on. Read the Story

The best advice is stop behind the hold line when approaching the runway, study airport layout, and ask the controller to repeat the instructions or step by step where to turn and know your signs.

If you are renting or flying to an unfamailiar airport ask a friend or fellow pilot who knows the airport to go with you. Hey pilots like to fly and another set of eyes and ears can be great!

Soon…hopefully you will have a helpful and one of a kind website to let your plane fantasies run amuck. I will be uploading out blog entries and some new ones that give my feedback on thing aviation. Welcome to out site. I will apologize up front for the fact that this site will mostly likely help you burn a lot of time browsing the different aircraft.

I burned many an hour trying to figure out what criterion was important in my first plane. Then many more hours searching for it and still more hours trying to figure out what to buy next. Welcome to aviation addiction! If you have ever gotten the “flying fix” you know what I mean and you gotta get more.

Well after all that now I just need to fly more! I welcome your feedback of the site and any info that you can add to make our site better. Have fun and Happy Flying!
