Wednesday, February 27th, 2008Good thing you practiced your emergency procedures…
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008Well you practiced them for your practical test and you occasionally look at them when you are bored on a long cross country…Babar Suleman is glad he did more than that and you should too! Mr Suleman got a chance to put his emergency procedures to the test and prove GA is not so bad and we really aren’t a bunch of adrenaline nuts who take unnecessary risks and he wound up landing on I-70 in Indianapolis as a spectacle instead of a statistic (much better) Read the Story
Bio Fuel Plane, we need one for GA
Monday, February 25th, 2008Virgin Airlines flew the first biofuel airplane from Heathrow to Amsterdam . I know several people that run their cars on used french fry oil which is great cause it is free, I wish I could do that with my airplane so hopefully this will help the GA pilot pocket book in the near future. Billy Joel – “it’s my life…”
Thursday, February 21st, 2008Well it has been an interesting week – I have the blog up and rolling complete with Google Ads! I hope to have beta testing going by next week. Search engine traffic is starting to pick up, so things seem to be looking up. If it wasn’t for the fact that my hard drive crashed last night after a 3am’er then we might be a little further along a little quicker, but bear with me…hope to be testing next week inspite of what all I haven’t recovered yet! Need a Break Today?!

FAA ruling on 51% rule puts moratorium on new kit planes
Tuesday, February 19th, 2008The EAA is working hard with the FAA to clearly define the new ruling on kit built aircraft. This ruling comes as a result of the FAA’s concern over “defacto” manufactures or companies that build kit aircraft for people. These companies are a big help for someone like me, who has considered several kit aircraft for ownership, yet don’t have the time, true desire or expertise to get a kit plane built before I die and hopefully that is still 50 years off.
The FAA is making a ruling to better define the 51% rule requirement or the requirement that the owner of the plane perform 51% or more of the work to build the aircraft. See the FAA report althought the final result is still open for review and final decision. Contact the EAA or find out when or if you can participate in an FAA town meeting or forum. Until then the FAA has put a moratorium on certification of new kit build aircraft.
