Houston plane crashes with No injuries except for the Crab bites!

I had to link to this article and video feed, because it is great.  Three buddies on the way back from a fishing trip to Houston, TX their Piper Cherokee goes down and no one is hurt!  Now that is a great story, but the unlucky guy in the back seat with the cooler gets bit all over by the crabs that escape the cooler…priceless  or wait is that just what he told his grilfriend!?

Cessna just came out with their newest jet the Citation XLS+ model priced at $11.595 million.  Avionics and Manufacturers are still kicking out the products as well in spite of some of the woes of companies like Adams Aircraft or the looming foreclosure and economic crisis.  Article from Aviation Today.

User Fees stayed out of the FAA Reauthorization Bill

Well if you use Jet-A you still get to pay more! Thanks to the current issues the FAA is facing it helped keep User fees and further cost out of our pockets some of general aviation.  Although a 65% rise in fuel tax per gallon from 21.8 cents to 36 cents that still seems kinda steep costing more than $142 per average Jet fill up.

Thielert Aircraft Engines bankrupcy only adds to the problem of high priced fuel

Rarely would you think that a bankrupcy of an engine manufacturer would worsen fuel crisis issues, but this one really could.  Ever since the Diamond DA-42 Twin Star details were released and then certified I have wished to own it. Not just a plane that burns as little as 11 gals/hr, but a TWIN ENGINE that burns that total between two engines.  Well the recent news of trouble by the manufacture of those engines really troubles me in a whole other way.
